Im Back! At least for today.

Hello everyone! i know it has been a while since i have updated the blog but things have been a little....busy, or should i say different, lately.

I am certain most my faithful followers are aware of the unfortunate career change forced upon me at the end of August - but i will update you all anyway.

On the three year anniversary of my mom's death (yes,i have to reference that to add DRAMA to my story) - my employer of three years laid me off. At 7.5 months pregnant! can you believe it? So where does that leave me? I am now a kept woman! a lady that lunches, if you will. TOTALLY kidding - of course. I am a now eight month pregnant woman who has to log on to unemployment every week and apply for three jobs. Are you kidding me? how did i end up here? i am not real sure. Shaw (said employer) is definitely going through some rough times and i knew it was a possibility that i not make it through the rough times. I wasn't torn apart about being let go - i actually looked at it as a blessing, with the help of my husband and friends perspectives. Since my last day, i have been busy!

It just so happened that Gates' school was closed for Labor day vacation for most of my first week unemployed. I got to spend some extra time with him while also getting some things done around the house (mostly making lists of things i want to get done around the house). Then, as my luck would have it, my poor little pumpkin got SICK on my second week unemployed. So i was home taking care of a vomiting little boy. it wasn't fun but i felt blessed that Cam didn't have to miss work and that i was able to be home with him, without worry about missing things at work. So this is my third week of unemployment and i have gotten SO much done! Should i bore you with the details? Enjoy my bulleted list below...

- I took my boots in to be cleaned for the fall
- returned some of Gates' BIRTHDAY gifts that were duplicates. yes, his birthday was in June. See what i mean? i have been putting off so much stuff and now is the time to do it.
- cleaned out closets
- pulled stuff together for a garage sale (it will be one hell of a garage sale)
- helped to get my husband more organized (this is a task)
- rested
- caught up on my trashy reality tv
- spent some time with sweet baby Kate Crossley who is over three weeks old now.
- made a trip to Austin to see my aunt, uncle, and cousins
- had the exterminator out to the house and Stanley Steamer (after the vomiting little boy, this was necessary).
- lots of trips to the store
- help in dinner preparations (as much as a kitchen challenged person can help)
and the list could go on and on.

I feel so productive. I really do. I have moved stuff around in my house - finding the perfect place for things that have never really had a place at all. i am staying busy, there is no doubt.

As far as my pregnancy goes - i am feeling HUGE. i can't believe i don't remember this part of my pregnancy with Gates. i hate night time and trying to fall asleep because I am SO uncomfortable. i have the worst indigestion - i can't seem to eat enough tums. i also cant' seem to eat enough chocolate.

and the most scary part of the pregnancy is that for a brief period in time, i was UNINSURED due to the lay-off. That was SCARY. i just knew i was going to have this baby early and we were going to rack up some serious medical debt (that's a way to think positive, right?) but instead, all is well and i am insured again! My husband's company kicked some serious butt in getting me insured quickly and stress level has gone down expotenitally.

Gates is great now. all better and loving going to school every day (vs just the part time program he was on). i really think he enjoys the routine and activity and fun that comes with attending school 5 days a week. I do notice he is EXHAUSTED at the end of the day but that just means he has had a full day of learning and socializing.

I could type forever because (i have nothing else to do) i have so much to say but i guess i will save it for another post.

have a great Wednesday (is today Wednesday? i lose track now. :))
